We enjoyed a lovely Sunday stroll today and stopped by one of the most recent additions to the local shopping triangle. I've bought some vegan brownies from Blowing Dandelion at the Crystal Palace Farmers Market before and so was pleasantly surprised when they opened up shop locally. That's right, an artisan chocolate shop selling raw, vegan treats opened 5 minutes walk from my front door! So in other words, you know where to find me! A chat with the barista revealed they are venturing into making vegan chocolate this year too, not just raw treats so I can't wait to try those. We grabbed two coffees, a hazelnut brownie to share (not) and sat outside as it wasn't so cold today. I definitely recommend popping in for a look and a delicious vegan treat. Enjoy and Happy New Year from the Girl in the Palace team!
I've got an extra special treat for you guys today. How tasty does this look? Sunday found us sitting in sunny Brixton with a cup of tea (green, for me) feasting on extra large helpings of deliciously naughty cupcakes. Ms Cupcake is well worth a visit, even if you're not vegan. They have gluten free and vegetarian cupcakes too, all served by the friendliest people on earth. They stock an array of other vegan alternatives too, from cheese to sweet tidbits, and even vegan sandwiches. It's such a treat to have them up the road from Crystal Palace. It's also a great place to pick up a few baking supplies if you're baking your own. Of course one cupcake is never enough, so we bought a box of four on the way out! :D
I thought I would share with you all my favourite smoothie recipe, seeing as I am constantly Instagramming about it.
1 and half cup of soy milk
1-2 tbsp of cacao nibs
Half cup of berries1 tbsp of chia seeds
1 tbsp of honey or agave nectar.
It's sweet and crunchy, sometimes I sub the milk with soy vanilla yogurt. Enjoy!
