RJ and I were so delighted to visit my cousin Mel and her family in Henley last weekend. We took the train from London on Sunday morning. You'll have to excuse our very tired faces, our upstairs neighbours decided to keep on partying when they got in from a night on the town at 3 am Saturday morning. The music was still going when we left for Henley at 9am so we didn't get any sleep! I was so so cross (and still am) because we've been putting up with them since they moved in around Christmas. Honestly, it sounds like they never stop moving furniture and one of them has an annoying laugh that somehow bellows down through our ceiling and into my ears at ALL HOURS. So, to get away from London to the lovely countryside and little village of Henley on Thames was the perfect remedy. I didn't even feel that tired once we got there! The weather was sunny and the blue skies put me in good form.
Mel and her husband have been really great too. RJ's car, the Cheeky Midge, broke down 2 weeks ago on the way to Henley and they've been babysitting it at theirs while RJ replaces the half shaft. The two men worked on the car, while we went to the park and saw some friends. We had such a lovely time and Mel made us all a lovely lunch and lots of tea. It was the perfect Sunday after the worst Saturday night. Here are some pictures of our daytrip. Photo (11) Waiting for the Overground! I love the Overground so much, it goes everywhere and doesn't smell bad like the Tube! I'm wearing my new Zara boots, which are so comfy. Photo (8) RJ getting a Cafe Nero. He also has on a very heavy backpack with car parts, but you can't even tell! Photo (5) The train takes about an hour from Paddington Station, which gives plenty of time for photo ops! I'm wearing my new Forever 21 peplum! Photo (6) The sky got more and more blue as we got closer to Henley. This picture was taken at Twyford. Photo (10) Isla and Edward lean down for a look under the car while RJ shows them what he's fixing. Photo (9) It's really hard to squeeze under the tiny Midge! I love the orange overalls, he looks like an escaped convict. Photo (7) We had a lovely time on the swings at the park. Isla loves them just as much as we all did when we were little! Henley has some really good kiddie parks. It was such a fun day. Photo (11) Waiting for the Overground! I love the Overground so much, it goes everywhere and doesn't smell bad like the Tube!
